From the first wash of color to the last detail of the signature, there is a sensuous delight in working a brush against the texture of the canvas. Color areas soften as they blur into one another, forming clusters of leaves on a tree against a pale sky. Vertical tree trunks hold a composition together as they appear then disappear among the fluttering light patches of the leaves. Country roads fade to a never reached distance. Trees mirror themselves in shimmering colors of watery reflections. Soft greens form patterns next to each other. Painting, to me, is pure pleasure.
